Introduction to Master Storytelling Workshop
Our FREE introductory workshop on Master Storytelling is open to anyone who is interested in developing their skills in storytelling.
Too often we use the word ‘story’ to mean so many things, and therefore training to become a ‘storyteller’ can mean everything and anything. In this training we are focussing on the stories that have the power to transform society, cultural norms, and some of the biggest global challenges we face today.
And how can we ever possibly hope to do this through the simple act of storytelling? Well, first we need to explore the idea that our current global problems come down to how we relate to each other and the world around us. Changing how we relate requires us to go deeper with our storytelling, and to work with the metanarrative that shapes our lives.
In this introductory storytelling workshop, we are delighted to offer some insights on how to do this, so that we can get started on our storytelling journey.
This workshop is an opportunity to explore the concept of Master Storytelling, which is a way of working with the implicit nature of storytelling.
We will explore what metanarrative is, how to create powerful metanarrative, the nature of storytelling, the shape of stories, and how to move beyond technocratic interpretations of storytelling.
The primary focus on this training is in the context of Storytelling for a Cause methodology. So ideally you will have a cause that you are looking to motivate audiences towards, whether it is environmental or a humanitarian cause, the methodology will still apply.

Please note – this workshop has been run several times and we have decided that it will make more sense to develop this into a stand-alone resource.
Watch this space and we will make this new resource available soon.
The real power of storytelling lies not in the narrative, but in the metanarrative - the implicit aspects of the stories we tell.
